Leer South is looking for an Underground Maintenance Trainer to join our successful team in Philippi, West Virginia.

Job Title: Underground Maintenance Trainer

Grade: EX. 09

Job Location: Sentinel/Leer South Mining Complex (Philippi, WV)

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

Provides training, direction and supervision to hourly employees responsible for underground coal mine maintenance in immediate area of responsibility, including: longwall and/or continuous miner maintenance. Responsible for ensuring that training objectives are met in a safe and timely manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Develop best practices and safe job procedures associated with all jobs performed at the complex
• Coach employees one-on-one in on-the-job skills development sessions
• Test all prospective new employees regarding equipment operation competency
• Maintain a database to accurately depict the on-the-job skills for all employees
• Other related duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor Degree preferred
• 3+ years underground mining experience required
• Possess, or able to obtain, MSHA & West Virginia Instructor Certification
• Display excellent communication (written and oral) skills
• Possess understanding of planning function and necessity of detail work
• West Virginia Electrician Certification
