System Support Specialist WAPP

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:
This position ensures the ongoing, effective, and efficient operations for ACI's computer, networking, security, and operational environments at the Central and Western Appalachian locations. Areas of responsibility include ongoing coordination efforts of team members with third party contractors and/or consultants in order to deliver projects, as required by operations and the corporate organization. Key focus is working with mine management, local staff, Corporate IT staff, and third parties for product installations and upgrades, focusing on enhancements to promote user efficiency, safety, and productivity.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Provide tier 1 and 2 (occasionally 3) support utilizing the ACI Service Desk management tool to proactively manage the technical environment and maintain a customer focus. Responsible for personal computer installations, identifying, diagnosing and resolution of problems. Installation and termination of network cabling. Installation of switches and routers. Support Active Directory, Windows File Shares, and other core services. Install and maintain Xerox and HP printers.
Supporting technology initiatives for the Eastern region including infrastructure upgrades/replacements, PBX support and mining systems in compliance with corporate standards and guidelines.

Required Qualifications: (Include education, experience, physical requirements, special skills and licenses or certifications required of the position.)
2 years of experience with various Microsoft operating systems.
2 years of experience with system administration, configuration and installation.
2 years of experience in an industrial environment.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to travel 50% of time.

Preferred Qualifications: (Preferred, but not required, to successfully perform the position requirements)
Associate's degree with emphasis in Computer Science, math, engineering, business or equivalent experience
Familiarity with MSHA/OSHA laws and requirements.
Previous experience in a coal mining environment.
Previous training on pulling/making network cables and troubleshooting networks.

EQUIPMENT USED:
Cable making tools (Crimper, Tester). Punch Down tools
