Leer South is looking for a Surveying Supervisor to join our successful team in Philippi, West Virginia.

Grade: EX. 08

Job Location: Sentinel/Leer South Mining Complex (Philippi, WV)

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

Provide Surveying, Mine Planning, and AutoCAD services to mining operations. Supervise surveying staff ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate surveying support is provided to both underground and surface applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Oversee the underground and surface surveying effort
• Perform underground and surface surveying as part of the surveying team
• Prepare and update mine maps and profiles using AutoCAD
• Maintain AutoCAD files
• Work with engineers in design of new mine projections and projects
• Interface daily with underground supervisors

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Associate's Degree in Surveying - qualified experience may be substituted for degree
• 4 years of experience in underground surveying with two years of experience in surface surveying
• Proficient with survey note reduction
• Proficient with setup and operation of total stations and leveling equipment
• Proficient with setup and operation of Trimble GPS and data collection equipment
• Solid knowledge and experience of surveying fundamentals, calculations, and note taking techniques
• WV Mine Foreman Certification (current)
