Job Location: Leer South Mining Complex (Philippi, WV)

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

Provides engineering expertise and support for all aspects of the development and operation of a mine.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Supports safety action plans and processes to meet company safety objectives
• Oversees adherence to permitting conditions and insure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Manages all aspects of the mine ventilation engineering, ventilation surveys, ventilation fans and models
• Manages and directs the underground engineering and surveying staff
• Prepares and submits mine plans to State and Federal agencies
• Maintains mine mapping, including semi-annual and annual map submittals
• Oversees plugged gas well mine through permitting
• Completes month end production and royalty reporting
• Provides engineering support and design for the mine/plant water supply and pumping systems
• Prepares mine plans, roof control plans, and mine ventilation plans
• Oversees Engineering of conveyor and rock dust systems
• Coordinates and optimizes the short and long term mine plans with operations
• Prepares mine seal plans and coordinates construction
• Manages projects and facilities as required, including underground construction, earthwork construction, shafts, slopes, buildings and utilities
• Plans and executes special projects as required, including cost analysis
• Interfaces with mine site, corporate, and government regulatory personnel

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in mining, civil engineering, or equivalent field
• 10 years of engineering experience
• Professional Engineering Registration
• Mine Foreman's Certification
• Proficiency in underground surveying methods (if applicable)
• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD and SurvCAD
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and oral
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
• Excellent safety and attendance record
