Job Location: Sentinel/Leer South Mining Complex (Philippi, WV)

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

To provide engineering support regarding design and technical assistance with all aspects of the underground mining operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Support safety action plans and processes to meet company safety objectives
• Mine site engineering projects as assigned
• Oversee adherence to permitting conditions and insure compliance with regulatory requirements including subsidence surveys and mining notices
• Submittal of mine plans to State and Federal agencies
• Preparation of mine plans, roof control plans, drainage design, mine ventilation, water handling, and rock dust systems
• Coordinate and work with survey crews as required
• Maintain mine mapping, including semi-annual and annual map submittals
• Month end production and royalty reporting
• Prepare budget model and determine advancing capital needs
• Economic evaluations of projects
• Preparation and monitoring of short range mine plans
• Interface with mine site, corporate, and government regulatory personnel
• Cost analysis of projects
• Plan and carry out special projects as required by mine management

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in mining, civil engineering, or equivalent field
• 2-4 years of Engineering experience
• Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and oral
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
• Excellent safety and attendance record
