Assists in the development of plans and schedules. Helps coordinate with mine management the mining/maintenance activities regarding the operation of the longwall system from setup to production or to recovery.

Responsible for the organization of optimum level of operating and cost efficiency by evaluating longwall performance and suggesting improvements in equipment, plans, schedules, and operating methods.

Help implement and monitor compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

Conducts safety meetings and assists in organizing training to improve overall longwall performance.

Assists with the development of goals, priorities, and standards through communication and cooperation with all departments.

Maintains awareness of changing geological conditions and provide guidance as necessary to assure maximum quality efficiencies.

Recommends changes from production, maintenance, and health & safety viewpoints.

Assists the coordinator with supervisor selection, training and development, and motivates to perform in the safest, most productive and efficient manner.

4 years of longwall coal mining supervisory/engineering/technical experience
