OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

To support the Business Manager's obligations in preparing journal entries, ad hoc reports, coordinate fixed asset reporting and monitoring guidelines for compliance with all internal policies, Sarbanes Oxley requirements and general reporting. Provide information to management to ensure they have the data needed to make timely, sound business decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Interpret and communicate monthly financial results to field management. Develop and help implement recommendations to enhance business data needs and/or to streamline various accounting and operational issues. Discounted Cash Flow analysis for capital projects and cost reduction projects; coordinate capital expenditures with AFEs as well as conduct FAS reporting
• Assist in the coordination, development, and presentation of annual budgets and 5-year plans. Interact with field management and corporate reporting to close the books each month. Responsible for assisting in updating OFA modeling for the budget, plan and BOD updates as needed.
• Coordinate responses to internal and external audit requests. As required, assist with royalty, severance and ad valorem and sales tax audits
• Responsible for monitoring, developing and documenting guidelines to ensure compliance with corporate policy pertaining to SOX and general reporting requirements.
• Serve as a financial resource to research, analyze and answer questions.

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• 3 years of accounting experience in accounting
• Proficiency in Excel and Word as well as exposure to accounting-related software
• Experience in performing financial analysis.
• Strong analytical skills and organizational skills
• Willingness to work as part of a team with behavior that supports this effort.
